DRONES 101 - Take Flight into the Future!
Drone 101 Summer Camp offers a thrilling introduction to the world of drones. It provides a safe and supervised environment for students to learn to fly, explore the potential of this technology, and discover the exciting possibilities that drones hold for the future. Campers will get comfortable with drone controls by practicing on flight simulators before taking to the real skies. These simulators will allow them to master basic maneuvers like takeoff, landing, hovering, and directional control and develop their hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness in a safe virtual environment. FAA Recreational license.

ELECTRICITY AND MAGNET MANIA Summer Camp is a dynamic program that ignites a passion for science in young minds. It provides a safe and engaging environment where campers can experiment, explore, and gain a foundational understanding of the electric and magnetic forces that power our world.The camp will be packed with exciting experiments that allow campers to put their newfound knowledge into action. Campers will build a simple electric motor and making it spin using electricity. Electrifying Encounters: Campers will be introduced to the basic concepts of electricity, including circuits, conductors, insulators, and current flow.

BRIDGES AND BUILDING Summer Camp offers a fun and engaging way for students to explore the world of engineering, construction, and design. The specific camp details will depend on the age group and program focus, but both options provide a chance to learn, build, and unleash creativity. Campers will learn creativity, problem-solving, and basic construction skills through fun and engaging activities. The camp will have various activities where campers can build small structures using safe and age-appropriate materials like cardboard, blocks, or recycled materials. This could involve building a miniature house, a tower, or a simple bridge.
CSI: Be a Detective for a Day!
Calling all future forensic investigators! This CSI: Crime Scene Investigations Summer Camp is designed to introduce middle and high school students (around ages 11-17) to the exciting world of criminal justice and crime solving. It's a unique opportunity to learn the techniques used by real CSI professionals and unravel mysteries like your favorite detectives! Campers will get hands-on experience with some of the tools and techniques used by forensic scientists. The highlight of the camp will likely be investigating mock crime scenes designed specifically for the participating age group. These scenarios will allow campers to apply their newfound knowledge of crime scene procedures and evidence collection.

ROCKET SYSTEMS AND TRAJECTORY - Up! Up! Up! And Away
Summer Camp offers a unique opportunity for students to explore the fascinating world of rockets and spaceflight. It's a perfect way to nurture their curiosity about science, engineering, and the wonders of the universe. Campers could take virtual tours of real-world rocket launch facilities and space centers. The camp will dedicate time for discussions about the history of space exploration, current space missions, and the future of rocket technology.Campers will get their hands dirty by building and launching their own model rockets.

DIY Architect-Building a House of Cardboard
DIY Architect Camp is a fantastic opportunity for kids who are curious about design, building, and the world around them. The camp will be packed with exciting DIY projects that allow kids to put their newfound knowledge into practice. This could involve building miniature models of buildings using cardboard, wood, or recycled materials. A fun and engaging way to spark creativity and introduce campers to the fascinating field of architecture.Using everyday materials, young innovative architects will build and decorate a toy to take home. Feature guest speakers, like architects, engineers, or urban planners. These professionals can share their experiences and give campers insights into the real world of architecture.
Future Innovators (AI/Coding)
Invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship! We will explore challenges the world is facing and come up with creative solutions using technology and other creative resources. Campers will learn the skills to find problems that impact their world and come up with inventions that make it better, and then jump into the process of turning her ideas into real products and services that people can use! We’ll dive into the invention process of brainstorming, engineering design models, and pitching a solution to a problem...learning what it takes to bring an invention to market. Campers will become "Founders" of their own companies and end the week presenting their pitch to our Stafford community!
